John DeJoie believes that Social Security is an earned benefit, that many retirees depend on in their retirement planning. Arbitrary reductions of social security benefits impact many working Americans, forcing them to return to work.

Medicare has been an effective insurance plan for retired Americans. The quality of care provided to Medicare recipients at a low overhead rate, have been a model of efficiency. Medicare for All should be utilized as the public insurance option in the healthcare reform proposals before Congress. This will not harm the coverage provided to our seniors, but offer to others a proven insurance product to provide competition to commercial insurers.

As your congressman John DeJoie will:

• Oppose reductions to earned Social Security benefits;
• Support removal of the Windfall Elimination Provision;
• Fight to close the Medicare Part D "donut hole” ;
• Oppose the practice of borrowing against the Social Security Trust Fund;
• Support Medicare for All as the public insurance option.
